    Spaghetti Pesto with Chicken

I discovered pesto fairly late in life, and it’s a shame I missed out on years of deliciousness.  In this recipe video, I make a spaghetti pesto with chicken that is both tasty and pretty easy to make.  Pestos are traditionally made with basil, garlic, pine nuts, and parmesan cheese.  In this version, I change it up a bit because I didn’t have pine nuts; I had almonds.  But in the spirit of No

According to some sources, there are more than 9 Billion (that's Billion with a B) Chickens in the United States!  That means the US has more chickens than the world has people!  Even, if that estimate is grossly exaggerated and it's actually half, that is still an insane amount chickens. Now many of those chickens are for Egg production, but not suprisingly, chicken also makes up a huge component of our meat consumption. The average American eats north of 90 lbs per year, far more than both beef & pork.

These facts lead to the obvious question; which came first, the chicken or the chicken recipe?

All all things at NoRecipeRequired, I think cooking chicken came long before detailed chicken recipes, and so we're focus all our "how to cook chicken" and yes "chicken recipes" on the fundamental techniques that are going to help you make sure you cook your chicken perfect everytime.

Chicken Breasts are probably the most common cut consumed in the US, so you'll find a ton of posts on how to cook the perfect chicken breasts. Whethere, grilled, baked, roasted, pan seared, or something else, you'll find the 411 on how to make sure yours turn out juicy, tender and flavorfull. Visit my chicken breast category for all the key posts.

A favoriate of mine is whole roasted chicken. No other cooking technique captures the full flavor profile, texture, tenderness, and all around wonderfull-ness of roast chicken. Like chicken breasts there are just a few core techniques to follow to ensure your roast chicken comes out perfect. I'll show you those techniques in my simple roast chicken recipes, as well several other recipes/flavor combinations in my roast chicken section.

Baking Chicken is one  of the most common meals in the American kitchen. Sadly, the way most people bake chicken, leaves dry, tough, overly flabby or overly cooked brick like blobs of....something. Rather than treating your chicken like a tray of brownies, and baking at 350 degrees for an hour, I'll show you some high heat methods, that will get you an all around better piece of chicken - but will take about a third of the time. Check out my Baked Chicken section here.

Finally, no collection of chicken recipes & cooking techniques is complete without covering grilled chicken. The grill adds awesome flavor to just about any meat, and the mild flavor of chicken, picks it up especially well. You can browse through my grilled chicken recipes, and more important learn the cool grilling techniques (like how to get those cool grill marks) in my Grilled Chicken section.
